
Richard Troia, J.D., LL.M. – Co-Founder and President/CEO.
Richard brings to A Special Sitter over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, leadership, and business development. Prior to co-founding A Special Sitter in 2012, he was involved in the formation and sale of two successful businesses. His experience involved roles at the capital formation level, as well as responsibilities in business development, operational, and P&L management.

Kimberly Troia, R.N., M.S.N. – Co-Founder and Director of Nursing.
After working as a nurse for 10 years, Kimberly graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Master of Science in Nursing. She worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the NICU at Children’s Hospital in Omaha and as a Clinic Manager for the Craniofacial Clinic before becoming a mother.

Jill Dougherty, R.N., M.S., PNP-BC – Family Care Manager.
Jill Dougherty MS PNP-BC RN is a native of Nebraska. She obtained her BSN from the University Nebraska Medical Center, College of Nursing- Omaha campus. She attended graduate school at Texas Women’s University in Dallas Texas, in which she obtained her master’s degree in Parent Child Nursing. She then obtained a postmaster’s graduate degree as a pediatric nurse practitioner and is board certified. She has worked as a nurse in various cities including, Denver, Dallas, Morgantown, West Virginia and Omaha. She has held various nursing and advanced practice positions in pediatrics such as staff nurse, charge nurse, pediatric clinical specialist, and pediatric nurse practitioner. Most recently she has been employed as a nurse educator/ faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing- Omaha campus. Jill loves family centered aspect of nursing and gets great joy when seeing the resiliency of infants and children when their health is compromised. Working with families is always added plus. She enjoys the outdoors, likes to play tennis, hit a few golf balls, bike, swim, do a little gardening in the summer, read and travel. Her family and friends are most important to her.
